Seeds High School
Education beyond eighth grade is critical to advancing beyond no jobs or low-wage jobs. Those with only an eighth-grade education have higher unemployment rates and lower earnings. High School education is essential to knowledge building, skill enhancement, and dispositional development, all necessary for transitioning successfully into higher education and/or the workforce.
The Story of Seeds High School
Before 2017, graduates from the eighth grade transitioned to boarding schools throughout Kenya for secondary education. The expense often “push” orphans and vulnerable youth out of school.
The Makanis had an ambitious plan; a plan to build a high school for Seeds eighth-grade graduates. The plan required thoughtful, committed people whose sacrifice would make a secondary education more likely.
In 2017, Seeds graduates began attending a newly built high school with a dining hall and kitchen. Today, they have a dorm for the young ladies and men. This is and are completing a dorm for the young men. This is a testament to our collective efforts and the seeds of change we’ve planted.
Seeds Tutorial Intervention
Donors have recently invested in a tutorial team to help nurture those roots. Through its dedication and commitment, this team is crucial in ensuring everyone can learn effectively, providing support and guidance where needed. It is instrumental in helping high school students reach their optimal level of achievement and pursue higher education, the educational pursuit of our orphans and vulnerable children. Your investment in the tutorial intervention plays a pivotal role in pursuing educational excellence. We encourage you to designate donations to the Medical Clinic.
